Longue Vue Club continues to impress, taking home Best of the Best honors for Hole No. 4 and Best Views in the 2024 Western Pennsylvania Golf Choice Awards. Known for its stunning scenery and world-class golfing experience, this club stands out as one of the true gems in the region.
Although I’ve had the privilege of playing at many of the finest country clubs in Western Pennsylvania, I haven’t yet had the honor of teeing it up at Longue Vue Club. But I can tell you, after these awards and hearing firsthand from fellow golfers, my interest is definitely piqued. It’s clear that Longue Vue has created an unforgettable experience, both on the course and off.
Perched high on a ridge above the Allegheny River, Longue Vue Club has been a Pittsburgh treasure since its founding in 1920 by a group of prominent industrialists. More than just a place to play golf, Longue Vue has always been a retreat where friends and family gather for recreation and celebration. That tradition continues today as the club remains true to its core values, offering members and guests a place they can call a home away from home.
For more than a century, Longue Vue Club has embodied excellence in all it offers. The course, designed by the pioneering American architect Robert White and later refined by golf legend A.W. Tillinghast, is a masterclass in golf architecture. Hole No. 4 is a prime example of its thoughtful design showcasing panoramic river views and strategic challenges that delight golfers of all skill levels. And it’s no surprise that Longue Vue also earned Best Views, as the vistas over the Allegheny River are truly breathtaking.
In addition to the outstanding golf course, Longue Vue offers a rich array of amenities, including dining, tennis, paddle courts, and a pool. It’s a full-service club that goes beyond just golf, providing its members with a wide range of social, business, and recreational experiences—all while maintaining the unique culture and rich traditions that have made it a beloved institution for generations.
Having not yet experienced Longue Vue Club for myself, these accolades have certainly elevated it on my must-play list. I look forward to the day when I can take in those views firsthand and walk the fairways of this exceptional course.
